Education & Background
Dr. Ashley Boustany, a native of West Virginia, received her bachelor’s degree at the Honors College after being awarded multiple academic scholarships. She graduated with the distinction of Summa Cum Laude, which is that of the highest honors. Dr. Boustany then obtained her medical degree in the highest quartile of graduates with numerous academic and professionalism recognitions. She was inducted into the prestigious honorary of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), Phi Beta Kappa, and the Mortar Board National Honor Society.
She proceeded to complete her surgical training at the six-year Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program at the University of Kentucky. In 2014, there were only 130 of these Integrated Plastic Surgery training positions in the country. Then, she went on to complete an advanced fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery at the Harvard Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship with a focus on facelifts, neck lifts, rhinoplasty, and revision breast surgery. The Harvard Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship is 1 of only 24 American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) endorsed fellowship programs in the United States.
She has published peer-reviewed articles on the topics of face and neck lifts, rhinoplasty, breast reconstruction, cosmetic breast implant surgery, and cleft lips. She is currently researching methods to optimize results for cosmetic surgery patients and writing book chapters on neck lifts and rhinoplasty.
She is now on faculty at Harvard Medical School as an Instructor in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In addition to her clinical and academic endeavors, she has valued the importance of giving back to the community through her volunteer work, as well as through cleft lip and palate missions to Guatemala and Ecuador. In her spare time, Dr. Boustany enjoys playing tennis, hot yoga, traveling to new places, and enjoying the city of Boston through dining and the arts.
