As you grow older, your body’s ability to produce collagen and elastin is compromised, leading to skin laxity, sagging skin, fine lines, and wrinkles. When it comes to body contouring, the root of most cosmetic concerns can be traced back to skin quality and fat distribution. RF skin tightening is a minimally invasive contouring procedure that facilitates collagen production and skin tightening while dissolving unwanted fat deposits in your face and body. We use the cutting-edge BodyTite, FaceTite, and AccuTite devices to facilitate safe face and body contouring.
About RF Skin Tightening
RF skin tightening addresses the following:
- Excessive skin laxity on the face and body
- Deposits of unwanted fat on the face and body
How does RF skin tightening work?
We perform RF skin tightening using the cutting-edge BodyTite, FaceTite, and AccuTite devices from InMode, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of cosmetic products. These devices facilitate radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL), combining the fat reduction benefits of liposuction and the skin tightening benefits of radiofrequency energy. When combined, these procedures reduce unwanted fat cells and facilitate skin contracture, thereby making you look slim, chiseled, and contoured.
What are my RF skin tightening options?
BodyTite is the largest InMode RF skin tightening device, useful for large areas of the body, such as the abdomen, thighs, arms, chest, etc. The device features an electrode that’s passed underneath the skin and activated to generate radiofrequency energy, which tightens the skin tissues, while a tube-like cannula is used to suction away the melted fat cells from the targeted regions.
FaceTite is also used for skin tightening via radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis, but it’s more suitable for the face. The device features an electrode that’s passed underneath the skin in targeted areas of your face, such as the jowls and neck. It generates radiofrequency energy to facilitate skin contracture and fat coagulation, following which a cannula is used to suction away the fat cells.
AccuTite is the smallest RF skin tightening device used for high-precision contouring in small areas like the jawline, brows, periorbital area, and nasolabial folds. The electrode is passed underneath the skin and activated to generate radiofrequency energy, which facilitates skin contracture and fat coagulation, following which the subcutaneous fat cells can be suctioned out of the body.
What happens during RF skin tightening?
Your RF skin tightening is performed at our state-of-the-art surgical center under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation. Dr. Boustany will curate the ideal treatment plan according to your unique goals, conditions, and requirements. Each treatment plan is personalized to ensure optimal and natural-looking results aligned with your anatomy and overall expectations.
During the procedure, the surgeon makes a small incision on the chosen treatment area on the body or face. The incision is an entry point for the chosen device’s probe, which is slid underneath the skin. The specific device used depends on the size of the target area — BodyTite is used for the biggest areas on the body, FaceTite is used for large areas on the face, and AccuTite is used for extremely small areas.
After sliding the probe underneath the skin, the electrode is passed on the other side of the skin, creating an electrical field between the probe and electrode. Once activated, the device generates radiofrequency energy to facilitate skin contracture and fat coagulation. The device is moved back and forth to ensure uniform distribution of RF energy, and a cannula is used to suction away the fat cells. The procedure concludes within an hour.
What’s the recovery process after RF skin tightening?
RF skin tightening involves minimal downtime, and most people resume their daily activities and work within 3 to 4 days. You may experience mild swelling and bruising around the treatment areas for a few days, but the side effects will dissipate quickly. You’ll start noticing the results within a week, and your skin will continue tightening for the next 3 to 4 months as your body produces new collagen fibers.
